Community Day of Service

Jan. 20, 9–11 A.M.
Veterans Park, Holly Springs

In remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr., band together with community members to spruce up greenways and parks in Holly Springs. Volunteers ages 16 and above will be working at Veterans Park spreading mulch and cleaning the playground and fitness areas. Martin Luther King Jr. March & Celebration

Falcon Park & First Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina

The Cultural Arts Society of Fuquay-Varina hosts its 21st annual celebration to honor the life and work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event begins at Falcon Park with a community march and will make its way to First Baptist Church for a grab-and-go breakfast and indoor celebration with music and readings. Triangle Yoga Fest

The first ever mini yoga festival, Triangle Yoga Fest, is coming to Apex. A collaboration between Lucky Elephant Yoga and Wellness, Peak City Fitness Fest, and local nonprofit Facts for Youth, this day of joy, gratitude, and growth welcomes participants of all levels. Community Gospel Showcase

Daddy and Daughter Sneaker Ball

Southern Wake Players Community Theater revives the 1978 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, The Gin Game, in which two residents of a nursing home recount the stories of their lives over a series of increasingly competitive games of gin rummy.

Icons of Jazz: An Evening of Sade featuring Shana Tucker

Musician Shana Tucker embodies the soulful presence of Nigerian-British singer Helen Folasade Adu — known throughout the world as Sade. Along with her quartet, Tucker performs a full program of greatest hits, including “Sweetest Taboo,” “Is It a Crime,” “No Ordinary Love,” and “Smooth Operator.” This concert features a full band led by musical director and pianist Christian Tamburr accompanying Tucker on vocals and cello. fuquay-varina.org/911/theater
