Springtime is officially upon us, so if you’re looking to get outside and enjoy the warm weather, Spring Fling is the perfect opportunity to do just that!
Scheduled for Saturday, April 2, at Ting Stadium, this free event includes inflatables, an egg hunt, a community yard sale, vendors with children’s activities (geared toward children ages 8 and younger), music, food and drink, and much more. This will be Spring Fling’s first year at Ting Stadium — last year it was offered on a much smaller scale, due to Covid.
“We love seeing families come out and enjoy our facilities at all of our events,” says Julie Tew, the Hunt Center’s recreation program manager. “Please come out and enjoy this kid-friendly, free event with your family!”
In 2021, the Town of Holly Springs limited the event to 50 kids at a time and passed out goodie bags in lieu of eggs — but this year, the large-scale egg hunt is back on! The egg hunt will begin at noon on the baseball field, where kids will have the opportunity to hunt for 12,000 eggs.
“We probably see about 500–750 kids,” says Tew. “The Easter Bunny will also be there for photo opportunities!”
The community yard sale is the perfect opportunity for spring cleaning, so clear out the cobwebs in your garage and attic and get ready to sell, sell, sell! Spaces are $5 per parking space, and setup starts at 7 a.m. Shopping will run from 8 a.m. until noon. For more information on how to register for the community-wide yard sale, visit the Town of Holly Springs website.
As usual, the town will continue to monitor the state’s COVID-19 gathering restrictions, and details are subject to change.
